and we have worn the dark
down to a thread
the sun floats up
and pulls the light of day
across a morning rose
a tree
across a thought
we mean to use
to start another day

Way back in March I let you know that I would be writing a story titled, The Disappearance of Jackie Blue. Well - I started, but soon felt that the story was not working. The good news is that I am starting again. It will be a mystery with dark undertones. The title will stay, and I will keep you posted!
Wishing for peace on Earth in 2024. It seems impossible, I know, but you have to start somewhere. My therapy (watercolor). Wishing you the best for the New Year!
The Fog
across the lake
fog rises
like the dead
it seeps into the evergreens
and birch that fill
the common ground
inside the day is lost
to books and bed
we close windows
light a fire
and stranded
in our velvet room
the thick white veil
the ghost
has closed us in

If you like vintage and you like Alfred Hitchcock, you will love North By Northwest! (1959) (available to rent on Amazon Prime) With Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint, and James Mason - this is a spy thriller! My recommendation for a cozy winter night. Yes I recommend!
