In The End

In The End

what would you remember
that day
the song that came to mind
the little things
what did I say
only a drive
and trees that formed a line

what would you say

would it be any different

now

forgetting things that
matter most

make it go away

In Memory of Ursula K. Le Guin

In Memory of Ursula K. Le Guin (1929 - 2018) - American novelist.

He Liked / She Liked

He Liked / She Liked

He was a Prep Cook at the Country Club.
She was a Macy's Store manager.
He liked to pretend they were married.
She liked being single.
He liked to bring her breakfast in bed.
She liked buying herself expensive jewelry.
He liked to talk about raising a family.
She liked to buy herself designer clothes.
He liked to play the lottery.
She liked to flirt with other men.

Then one day he won 500 Million Dollars.

He was a Multi-Millionaire.
She was a Macy's Store Manager.
He liked to collect Lamborghini cars.
She liked to bring him breakfast in bed.
He liked to buy property on tropical islands.
She liked to talk about having children.
He liked to go to nude beaches without her.
She liked to cook romantic dinners for him.
He liked being single.
She liked to pretend they were married.

Strangers

Strangers

two times
it passed them by
long shadows
long sky
up to their necks in water
high

put the blame on time
or reality
put the blame on someone else
entirely

stitch the morning
pull the thread
looks like strangers
up ahead

Dreaming of Spring

they tried

they tried

to fill me with electricity
but the stones wouldn't rise
half covered in grey caps
they sliced the sky
long strands of the silver moon
braided stars crossed the night
and I returned on a bed of wheels
heart scraping - stone slapping
white
