Summer Blue

The complexion of the sky today

has taken on a hue,

like windblown sheets

of summer blue.

Stretched across the longest day

they bring to mind a tranquil thought,

as falcons drifting far away

rise above the trees

on gray tipped wings,

and leave a silence

as the fields relax into another day.
